Back when Morgan was younger, he had a growth on his chest. At first it was rather small, within a few years it had grown to look like a huge glob of gum on his chest. It didn't seem to bother him, and the vet said it was harmless, so we left it until 2005, when we got rid of it.
Anyone else have a similar thing happen to their beloved beagle? |

A looooong time ago when I had my very first beagles, they were mother and daughter, I noticed a small growth on the mother's mammary gland area. She had had puppies in the past so we didn't think much at first but then it got bigger and bigger and got dangerously close to her heart, it was so big it was pushing her rib cage together. The vet didn't reccomend having it removed because she would probably lose too much blood and it would be very expensive. She was very old too, she passed about 2 years later at the ripe old age of 12. Story isn't over though! Her daughter, susy, soon had a small lump on the side of her ribs. It got big slowly, at 7 she was going strong and it was still only the size of a very small scoop of ice cream. She passed away at 8 from unrelated problems. Their growths were cancerous and I assume your dog's lump wasn't. I wouldn't worry unless it came back |
