I think this comes under training, feel free to yell at me if it doesn't.
As everyone knows, bored Beagles are destructive and often escape the yard, so I did some research and came up with some things for them to do while their servants are at school/work: -Kiddie pools-I know my Beagle loves water (except baths..........), so in summer, fill up a kiddie pool with water for them to hide from the heat in. In winter, turn it into a sandpit for them. Hide treats and different scents to really make them use their noses and their brains. -Kongs-Are little toys that you can fill with treats and the dog has to try and get them out. -Frozen surprises- Grab a 4 litre tub of ice-cream (empty, you can get your Beagle to help with THAT part!) and either a) Freeze a treat in the ice or b) flavour the water with chicken/beef stock (not too much as most stocks are salty). Now isn't THAT a great toy to play with! -Lay scent trails for them. Using chicken/beef stock, lay a scent for them to follow and leave a treat at the end for them! After all, what was the Beagle designed for? Feel free to add your own suggestions! |

Cool ideas! :) Ill try some of them!
Umm I teach my beagle to jump, I set up jumps with sticks on chairs and get her to jump over them with food.
I hide treats around the house for her to sniff out.
umm cant think of anymore right now lol. |

Great Ideas! I'm a bad beagle parent lol. I leave my girl crated while I'm gone with a simple thing to chew on. Like a nyla bone or kong! I'm going to try the kiddie pool idea when it warms up, she loves water so I don't think it'll be an issue! If you don't leave your beagle crated you can get one of those balls that they push and treats fall through holes I forget what it's called. |
