skin problems and iching....

Hi my beagle...Isabella is almost 5 and has really bad skin probems and iching...she also bits her feet and licking too....We have gone to her doctors and they blood testing everything they could ....now we have to go to a specialest and well I am not sure if we can afford that....any help would be appriceated....

The chewing at the paws sounds like a yeast infection to me. Have they checked her for that? Have they checked her for allergies or mange? I think those would be the first things to rule out before they send you off.

Also be aware it could be an allergy to fleas or ants.  Morgan is allergic to fleas, one time he ripped most of the skin off near the base of his tail.

We give our beagle/basset mix fish oil capsules a couple of times a day to relieve skin inflammation due to allergies. It's relatively cheap and very effective. Plus he receives all the benefits of fish oil and Omega-3 that humans do without side effects.
