Abby spent an hour this morning barking at part of a clock. This clock use to be in a (IDK what you'd call it... cover/case maybe) hanging on the wall in the dining room but it wasn't keeping time so FIL took it out of the case, took it apart to work on it last night. He left just the face part out and stuck it up on the wall in the office to see if it would keep time before he went through the trouble of putting it all back together.
Well, soon after I let Abby out of her crate this morning I saw her, front paws on the desk standing on her bottom legs sniffing in the direction of the clock on the wall. No matter what I said to her she would hop down, but go right back up or just stand on all fours looking at it. Eventually that led to barking and whimpering at the clock so I took it off the wall and let her sniff it.
You would think by the way she was sniffing it someone had stuck bacon (one of her favorite treats) or rabbit scent on it....her nose was going a mile a minute like it does when she's tracking. I don't know if it smells funny (it's from Mexico so maybe it's made with some weird animal hair or something), or what but she spent about ohhh an hour barking and barking at it this morning no matter what I said to her. I even tried to distract her with food which she ate, but after went right back to barking at the clock.

THANKFULLY she's quiet now, but she will walk into the room to eye the clock occasionally.
1. lolz. I know. My beagle does that at times but i find ways to distract him. great story by EDR6LSWasha

Hi, My Beagle will bark and bark at herself when she's in the kitchen. She walks up to the stove and sees herself in the reflection of the door lol. No matter what i say it's usually at least a 10 minute episode. Love those crazy beagles!!!

She hasn't barked at the clock since they took it off of the wall.

I have noticed she we moved here she's been more skittish...we're moving as of the first so hopefully she'll go back to her laid-back beaglie-self! I hate it when she's jumpy, it makes me feel so bad.

Sundae used to look at himself in the bathroom mirror and bark and bark. It made me laugh just looking at him fighting with his reflection. XD
