Hi guys! My beagle, Sundae, is tons of fun, but he has a little problem. He's almost always trying to bite me and sometimes when he does he goes into an emotional shift, then he starts growling and snapping at me! He barks loudly and then starts chasing me everywhere I go. And every time he gets into an emotional shift, he starts running around the rug and hides in the table on the center of the rug when he gets startled, and it takes a long time for it to wear out of him. He just cut my finger last night and it bled! Now, it is certainly not rabies, because he has not been acting sick or anything, but the problem is that I have too deal with this problem every day! Is it just playing, or is it aggression? Suggestions anyone?

My beagle, Digger, hides under the table in the living room when he takes something and wants to keep it to himself. When I try to take it, he gets aggressive. That, in my opinion, is playing, but he wants to show you who is boss. If you just leave him alone, he'll forget about whatever has ticked him off, and he will eventually come out.

its agression or he is just playing with you. I have the same problem with my beagle Washa. He will be doing something and ignore me than when i touch him he acts cukoo. XD If someone pushes me he also chases me. i don't mind it at all. I do bleed when it gets out of control. you need to show him who is the boss. and also play back but easily. I hope i am making sense.

Well, the thing is he just starts biting me for no reason at all, and sometimes when I run and he catches up with me, he starts the growling. And his mouthing has become a habit for him that I think will not go away for a long time. When he gets into his emotional shifts, it's mostly because he's nervous that he did something wrong and I had to correct him. He gets all nervous and runs around the couches and the rug. Later, he cowers to the rug and hides there. And sometimes, if I try to walk away, he comes out running at me and starts barking at me. He bites me tremendously after that. He bites me in all the wrong places. He bit me in the finger and it bled to my nails. Then, he bit me in the arm and the wound was a bit deep, but not too much. Anyway, he doesn't seem to be repeating that behavior much, but he may start doing it again.
